Dana White Gives Another Update on White House Card

Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane fought to a no-contest at UFC 321. A rematch is expected, and of course, the media asked about the White House card. Saturday’s Abu Dhabi card had many heavyweights and heavy hitters, ending with a lot of questions about the “Baddest man on the planet” heavyweight division.

The list is getting long for fighters fans would like to see on the White House card. Jon Jones, Alex Pereira, who expressed interest in moving up to heavyweight, Aspinall, Gane, Volkov, and many others could be added after the UFC rankings are updated on Tuesday. A heavyweight main event would be nice for the White House.

But the media should take a break from asking about it.

Especially since UFC President Dana White has repeated that the card is not yet in the planning stages. When asked about it after UFC 321, White said, “We haven’t even started to put together [the White House card].”

“We’ve got to let this year play out before we even start to think about what we’re doing for the White House. We’re not even going to start playing with that card till February.”

With this year coming to a close and the UFC exiting the ESPN platform, there are likely a lot of moving parts to keep the promotion going. There are also a lot of cards to plan between then and now, so White’s answer makes sense.

Still, people allowed to cover UFC events will likely keep asking, and we probably won’t get a new answer until the UFC is on their new platform at Paramount+. And there is TKO boxing coming too, so one card may not be a top priority until the time draws near.
