Dana White on Ronda Rousey UFC return – “There’s no shot”
UFC President Dana White addressed rumors that former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey may be returning to the promotion.
“There’s no shot,” White said at UFC 292 in Boston over the weekend. “She’s accomplished everything she set out to do.”
Rousey, 36, has not competed in professional mixed martial arts since her first-round knockout loss to now former champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016. It was Rousey’s second consecutive loss and came just 11 months after Holly Holm shocked the world with a head-kick knockout in at UFC 193 in Australia.
“Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it,” says White. “Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”
Following her run in the UFC, “Rowdy” went to the world of professional wrestling where she earned multiple titles within the sports entertainment industry.
