Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 7, Week 8 Results
Dana White’s Contender Series is down to its final three weeks of the seventh season with tonight marking the eighth week of the show.
Last week, the show experienced its first draw of the season and despite the draw, Stephanie Luciano was selected for a UFC contract. She was one of four fighters to get picked for a contract on last week’s show.
Now tonight, five more fights are set to go down inside of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Tonight’s main event would have been taken place for the vacant CFFC welterweight title, but instead Danny Barlow and Raheem Forest will fight it out for a UFC contract tonight.
Barlow enters the matchup with a perfect 6-0 record and four of those victories come by way of a first-round stoppage. Meanwhile, Forest is once-beaten as pro, with that loss coming two fights back in a title defense against recent UFC 293 winner Charles Radtke.
In the co-main event, heavyweights will share the octagon with Brazil’s Mario Piazzon facing off with German Alexander Soldatkin.
Piazzon is an undefeated 25-year-old that has only gone past the first round once in his professional career. He teammates with recent DWCS winner Eduarda Moura and Season 5 standout Jailton Almeida.
Soldatkin is known for finishing fights as he carries an 11-fight winning streak and 14-3 mark overall into the cage this week, having earned each of his last seven victories inside the distance. He was born in Russia before moving to Germany.
One another fight to keep an eye on is the opener tonight where a pair of veterans in Vinicius Oliveira (18-3) and Victor Madrigal (15-4) square off.
Tonight’s fights will be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 8 p.m. ET and the broadcast will also be available on ESPN+.
