Danielle Kelly discusses signing with ONE Championship
Video interview with Danielle Kelly above
Danielle Kelly is officially on the ONE Championship roster.
Earlier this week, the combat sports world lit up when Kelly made the announcement that she was joining the Asian based promotion.
Kelly’s contract with ONE will consist of both grappling and MMA and the grappling star told MyMMANews that she isn’t rushing to make the change over to MMA.
While Kelly is still working on the transition to MMA, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt plans on being active with grappling competitions. In fact, as for her next competition, expect too see Kelly compete sooner rather than later as she said she will be announcing her first jiu-jitsu match with her new promotion in the very near future.
Kelly just recently competed in a grappling match against former UFC strawweight champion Carla Esparza. The two headlined the Fury Pro Grappling 3 show and it ended with Kelly earning a win by doctor stoppage as Esparza ended with up a nasty cut over her eye when she slammed Kelly to the canvas and the two clashed heads.
After signing with ONE, Kelly spoke with MyMMANews to discuss how she ended up signing with the promotion and what her contract consists off. She also talked about how her transition into MMA has been going and the work she’s been putting in with her teammates, which includes rising UFC flyweight contender Erin Blachfield.
