Darren Elkins set to return in April against Tristan Connelly
Darren Elkins will look to return to the win column in April.
According to Global News British Columbia, Elkins is set to face B.C. native, Tristan Connelly on a Fight Night card on April 30. Elkins and Connelly have since confirmed the fight on social media. The event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas while no main event has been announced.
Darren Elkins (26-10) is coming off a first-round TKO loss to Cub Swanson back in December. The loss snapped his two-fight win streak as he TKO’d Darrick Minner and submitted Luiz Eduardo Guaragorri. Before the win streak, the Team Alpha Male product was on a four-fight losing skid as he lost to Nate Landwehr, Ryan Hall, Ricardo Lamas, and Alexander Volkanovski.
Elkins has been in the UFC since 2010 and holds notable wins over Duane Ludwig, Diego Brandao, Mirsad Bektic, and Michael Johnson among others.
Tristan Connelly (14-7) is coming off a decision loss to Pat Sabatini in his UFC featherweight debut at UFC 261, which was also his second UFC fight. He made his debut on short notice at welterweight against Michel Pereira at UFC Vancouver in September of 2019 where he pulled off a massive upset as he won a decision over Pereira. After the win, he dealt with some neck injuries that kept him out of action for a year-and-a-half.
Prior to signing with the UFC, he competed locally in Canada and has notable wins over D’Juan Owens, Joey Pierotti, and Zach Juusola.
