Darren Till to fight on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing card
Former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till will make his professional boxing debut on the July 20, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Till will face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a six-round boxing match in the cruiserweight division.
“I’m very happy with my opponent,” Till said in the press release. “I’ve been a fan of his father for many years, and I’ve been a fan of Chavez Jr. too — he is a great fighter who I respect, but make no mistake about it, I am coming to knock him out in the first round. I am happy with where I am in life, and I am coming to make a statement on Saturday, July 20th in Texas.”
Chavez Jr. is the son of Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez, and holds a (53-6-1, 1 NC) record, whereas Till has no pro boxing bouts to his record and has not fought professionally since his last UFC performance in December 2002, a loss to current champion Dricus du Plessis.
