Darren Till wants to fight at UFC 248, asks Donald Trump for a visa
Darren Till is asking the President of the United States of America for a favor.
Till posted a photo of Jared Cannonier on Instagram saying, “@realdonaldtrump get me my visa for @ufc248 so I can whoop this man.”
Cannonier was originally scheduled to fight former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, but Whittaker withdrew from their scheduled bout. Till immediately wanted to step in, but the fight never came through.
Rumors around the MMA world were saying Till couldn’t fight on March 7 due to an ankle injury and contract issues, however Till says all he needs is Donald Trump to grant him a visa and he’s good to go.
Till (18-2-1) won his middleweight debut over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 in November. Prior to his move to middleweight, Darren Till previously fought at welterweight where he challenged for a UFC championship.
On the other hand, Cannonier has moved down to middleweight after starting his career at heavyweight. Since moving to middleweight, Cannonier is 3-0 winning all three contest by stoppage.
UFC 248 will be headlined by a middleweight championship fight between current champ Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero. In the co-main event, Weili Zhang will make her first strawweight title defense against former long time champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
