David Feldman on “Needle Movers in the WWE” Developing BKFC Personas
David Feldman is the figurehead of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. He is coming off of the biggest event in company history. BKFC 56 saw Mike Perry halt Eddie Alvarez to become the King of Violence. Plus, there was a host of remarkable title fights on that December 2nd night.
David Feldman spoke to me at a media day in the days following that monumental card. Excerpts from our chat are below.

It seems like there’s mutual interest between ‘Showtime’ Pettis and Mike Perry to fight following BKFC 56.
How much discourse, if any, has been had with Anthony Pettis coming to BKFC?
“I mean, just a little bit. Look, he’s got a big fight coming up in two weeks and he has to win that fight before we can even entertain that conversation at all. You know, he’s a good name but there’s a lot of other names that have been reaching out and I think a lot more names are very, very intriguing. Not that Anthony Pettis isn’t but I think when he fights December 15th, he’s gotta look sensational to be in the mix.”
David Feldman continued, “That’s something that really could happen with him, because he’s a great fighter. So, we’ll know a lot more after December 15th for Anthony Pettis. But like I said, a lot of people want to get in the mix right now. It’s a great thing for us right now. Some of the names that are calling me and I’m like, man. I used to watch you fight and be a fan of you and now you’re trying to fight my organization. It’s a great feeling for us.”

Then Mick Terrill cemented himself as the heavyweight champion at BKFC 56. It seemed like you were intimating that perhaps the rubber match with Arnold Adams wouldn’t happen right away.
You said you’re gonna have a meeting coming up to maybe figure some of these details out. But I guess would the trend be more towards a Lorenzo Hunt option or maybe see what that rescheduled Ben Rothwell versus Todd Duffee fight could present?
“Yeah, we’ll see what happens. Look there’s a couple of options there. I’m not ruling anything out. A Lorenzo Hunt fight I think it’s intriguing. He said he would give up the ’85 and 205 championship to move up to heavyweight and I think that that’s definitely an option. Ben Rothwell, that’s another intriguing fight. So, there’s a lot of options out there, like I said, in the next few weeks where I have a lot of answers, but both of those are definitely in the mix.”

Yeah, for sure. Then it was mentioned about bringing in some pro wrestlers to get some character development going with some of the fighters.
Do you have specifics ironed out as far as specific names that you’re going to bring in or have you not gotten to that point yet in figuring out those names?
“We got a few but they have to get official permission from WWE. But we got a few really, really top stars there. They’re needle movers in the WWE. So hopefully they can make our fighters needle movers as well.”
David Feldman on BKFC Canada
Just the last one for me here because I mean, I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask about Prospect Series Canada.
When are we getting some more details on who are going to fill out that first card in my home country?
“I think you’re probably not going to get anything until right after the first of the year and that’s when we’re gonna really push that one hard. Think the card’s pretty much filled up. I think Nate (Shook; BKFC matchmaker) got the card pretty much filled out. He worked with Ryan Ford up there to do that.”
David Feldman continued, “I think it’s gonna be a good way to start in Canada. We’ve had some great conversations in Toronto and Montreal as well. We’re definitely going to end up there towards the end of the year.”
