David Tutuska Cage Wars 38 Flyweight Title Fight Interview | CCMMA Podcast

David Tutuska joined Kyle Carroll of My MMA News on Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast to discuss his upcoming fight against Joe Byers for the Cage Wars flyweight title. Tutuska fights out of Mohawk Valley MMA (MVMMA) in New Hartford, New York. The fight between Tutuska and Byers is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, at the Rivers Resort and Casino in Schenectady, New York. The previous two Cage War shows held at the Rivers Resort and Casino has been sold out. Fights are expected to start promptly at 7 PM, which will also be streamed live on Fite TV.

“The Animal”, Tutuska, holds an amateur record of 5-1 heading into this flyweight title fight against Byers. On a two-fight win streak and only loss to the Cage Wars double-champ, Xi Lau, the MVMMA fighter is confident in his skills that he’ll walk away with the win. Training at one of the top gyms in upstate New York, MVMMA is host to numerous amateur fighters, including the Doolen brothers, Davie and Michael, whom will be fighting alongside Tutuksa on the fight card.

Out of the five victories in Tutuska’s amateur career, four first-round finishes, two TKO/KO and two by submission. His MMA debut is the only fight that went the distance, a fight he won via split decision against Jon Conklin, who also made his MMA debut. The MVMMA fighter’s opponent, Joe Byers is 2-1-1 in his amateur career.

“The Animal” is a full-time Army National Guard recruiter. He’s been serving the country for seven years and expressed his desire to make more of his life through the path of MMA and doesn’t just want to be remembered for being in the Military. If he captures the title, the father of one expressed that he plans to defend the belt at least once and then after that his plans to turn pro are highly likely.

David Tutuska fights Joe Byers in the co-main event Saturday night, September 15, 2018, at the Rivers Resort and Casino in Schenectady, New York at Cage Wars 38. Be sure to purchase tickets now as the last two events at the Rivers Resort and Casino have been SOLD OUT. Tickets can be purchased by contacting any fighter or by going to www.cagewarsny.com.

If for some crazy reason you can’t make it to the casino to watch in person, the fights will be streaming live on FITE TV. Kyle Carroll and Will Barry will once again be delivering the action ringside.
