DeAnna Bennett: “I’ve dreamed this over and over again”
Tune in below to watch the entire interview with Bellator flyweight title challenger, DeAnna Bennett as she chats with MyMMANews.
With two years of vast improvement, will, and sheer determination, DeAnna Bennett has the opportunity to avenge a previous loss and become a world champion in the same night.
On Friday, April 21st, Bennett will take on Liz Carmouche in a rematch, vying for the Bellator women’s flyweight championship at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The pair originally squared off in September of 2020 with Carmouche defeating Bennett via third round submission. With the impending fight around the corner, Bennet is eager to show that their first outing was just a fluke and to even the score.
“I’ve been waiting so long and working so hard for this,” Bennet confesses. “I’m going to make sure it happens because I’m going to put in the work and I’m going to put myself in the position to get that title shot and I’m going put my position to get that win back.”
Going into this upcoming bout, Bennett isn’t certain about the variables about how the bout will play out. However, “The only thing I know for sure is that she is coming to retain that belt,” Bennett says. “She worked hard to win that belt and I’m working hard to take that belt away from her and it’s going to be a tough fight. It’s going to be a great fight, and I know we’re both going to fight our hearts out!”
