Devin Clark vs. William Knight for heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 51

Devin Clark is moving up to heavyweight to fight William Knight at UFC Vegas 51.

According to MMAJunkie, and has since been confirmed by MyMMANews, Clark will take on Knight on April 16 at the UFC Apex. The event is set to be headlined by a welterweight rematch between Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad. The bout will be Clark’s MMA and UFC heavyweight debut.

Devin Clark (12-6) is coming off a decision loss to Ion Cutelaba in a rather one-sided beatdown that saw him suffer a brutal jaw injury that saw his teeth get smashed in, in the fight. Prior to that, he suffered a submission loss to Anthony Smith in a bout he was elevated to the main event on weigh-in day. Before the back-to-back losses, ‘Brown Bear’ pulled off an upset win as he beat Alonzo Menifield by decision at UFC 250 and beat Dequan Townsend by decision.

Clark has been in the UFC since 2016 and is 6-6 in the promotion with notable wins over Darko Stosic, Mike Rodriguez, and Jake Collier. He also has lost to some of the best as he has lost to Aleksandar Rakic, Jan Blachowicz, and Ryan Spann among others.

William Knight (11-3) suffered a decision loss to Maxim Grishin at UFC 271 in a heavyweight bout. He took the fight on short notice and it was booked at light heavyweight but he weighed in at 218lbs so the fight was moved to heavyweight. Before the setback, he beat Menifield by decision and knocked out Fabio Cherant. He’s currently 3-2 in the UFC with his other win over Aleksa Camur while his other loss was to Da Un Jung.
