Diego Sanchez bloodied in bare knuckle debut at KnuckleMania 3 against Austin Trout

The original UFC Ultimate Fighter winner, Diego Sanchez, made his bare knuckle fighting debut tonight at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s KnuckleMania 3 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Sanchez, 41, held a pro MMA record of 30-14 going into the bout against the accomplished boxer.

Trout, who held the WBA (Regular) light middleweight title from 2011 to 2013 and is also a three-time light middleweight world title challenger; challenging twice for the IBF title in 2016 and 2017, as well as for the WBC title in 2018, also made his BKFC promotional debut tonight.

While the bout went four rounds, Trout was always just a step ahead, battering Sanchez to the point where the famed pro boxer asked referee Big Dan Miragliotta to check his opponent’s wounds.

The bout was eventually called off by a ringside physician.

Trout later called for a bout with champion Luis Palomino.
