DiSCIULLO, GARCIA READY TO RUMBLE AT CES 38
Unbeaten Peabody native Rico DiSciullo plans on making September 23 a night to remember, when he enters the cage under the bright lights at CES 38 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
But his opponent David Garcia isn’t coming all the way from Chicago, where he was born and raised, to return to the windy city without a win in tow.
“This isn’t the first time that I’ve come into my opponent’s backyard, and I’m going to go in there and do my thing,” said Garcia, who was 8-1 as an amateur MMA fighter. “There’s more pressure on him than me. He’s on a good streak, and he’s going to want to live up to it in front of all of his supporters, and that might affect him once we get going.”
Garcia is excited at the prospect of snapping DiSciullo’s seven-fight unbeaten streak as a professional fighter — especially live on AXS TV Fights.
But DiSciullo isn’t feeling the pressure and plans on having some fun on Fight Night.
“I’m not concerned about anything besides putting on another exciting fight,” said DiSciullo, a three-time Bellator veteran. “Yes, I want to keep my winning streak going, but I’m not going to play it safe or take my foot off the pedal. There’s nothing I love more than going out there and putting on an exciting fight, and I’m expecting just that at Foxwoods.”
