Mazzotta is the second MMA star from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to today be removed from an upcoming fight card. Earlier today it was announced that “The Pride of Bloomfield,” Mark Cherico would no longer be competing at 247 Fighting Championship: Brawl in the Burgh 2 due to a nagging neck injury.
According to sources close to the Mazzotta camp, it was a knee injury that derailed “The Honey Badger.”
As of press time Bellator matchmakers were seeking a replacement to face Mix but no contracts have officially been signed.
Bellator 232 is headlined by a welterweight title fight between Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima. The event takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
