Dominick Reyes on UFC return – “No evidence of deep vein thrombosis anymore”
Former UFC light heavyweight title contender Dominick Reyes (12-4) has not competed inside the octagon since his November 2022 loss to Ryan Spann.
The defeat marked the fourth consecutive time that Reyes did not have his hand raised in victory. His last UFC win dates back to when he finished former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman in October 2019.
The two-time UFC title challenger posted a video on Instagram revealing that he was dealing with deep vein thrombosis.
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in the body, usually in the legs.
“Hey everyone, I just got out of my appointment at Victor Valley Imaging and I got a clean bill of health,” Reyes said in the video. “No evidence of deep vein thrombosis anymore.
“I’m pretty excited. I just got to finish off these next few days of blood thinners and I’m good to go, 100 percent. Thank you, everybody, for the kind words, the love, and reaching out and everything. Time to get back at it, baby. I’m ready to go.”
