Dudu Dantas, Johnny Campbell Out, Mo Miller Now Gets Jose Johnson At Fury FC 53
A pair of withdrawals have occurred for Fury FC’s big fight week in Denver, Colorado.
Fury FC 53 will play host to Dana White’s ‘Looking For A Fight” this Sunday at the Western National Complex. The UFC President will be cageside along with Matt Serra and Din Thomas as they scout regional talent from the stacked card.
The Fury FC 53 card has suffered some blows however, but not all is lost.
On Thursday, promotion officials confirmed to My MMA News that two fights have been cancelled from the main card. Former Bellator Champion Dudu Dantas is out of his fight against Jose Johnson. The withdrawal would be due to visa issues.
“I know that the event and the organizers did everything possible to make that happen.” Dantas wrote on Instagram. “I’m still ready. I did my part as an elite athlete, kept my weight down and cut -6kg yesterday. I expect great news soon…after all I’ve never been as well as I am today. Ready and hungry, keep moving forward to the top.”
It was also learned that 35-fight veteran Johnny Campbell is out of his fight against Contender Series prospect Mo Miller. It is still unknown at this time on why Campbell withdrew, but Miller has a theory in mind: ‘cold feet’.
The ‘Mo Show’ must go on.
Mo Miller will put his undefeated 6-0 record on the line against Jose Johnson instead.
Miller is coming off a unanimous decision victory on Dana White’s Contender Series in September. His performance wouldn’t be enough to get a UFC contract from the boss man. He looks to make the most out of his second opportunity, in front of White, who is in attendance.
In the other corner lies Jose Johnson who is coming off a loss to current UFC fighter Mana Martinez at Fury FC 46: Looking For A Fight. He wasn’t able to show out like he wanted to but looks for redemption with White watching closely. He has won 6 out of his last 8 fights, with two losses coming to those who are now on the UFC roster.
