Dustin Jacoby breaks down his victory over Maxim Grishin
Dustin Jacoby and Maxim Grishin went at for 15 minutes at UFC Vegas 20.
In the first round Grishin was able to briefly drop Jacoby twice. The first knock down Jacoby said he wasn’t hurt and that he slipped and lost his balance. Nonetheless, he was still down 1-0 on the judges score card at the end of the opening round.
After the first round the fight was a whole different story however. Jacoby was able to showcase his kickboxing skills and take over the fight. He repeatedly found success with calf kicks and his punches started to land flesh on Grishin’s face.
After clearly taking the second round, Jacoby was able to carry the momentum into the final round and while the final the final five minutes were close, Jacoby won the round to edge out a close unanimous decision victory.
Following his win, Jacoby spoke to MyMMANews to break down his win. Aside from from speaking about the win, Jacoby also discussed how effective calf kicks are as it’s now the new deadly weapon in MMA.
