Dustin Poirier, UFC agree to partnership to make Poirier’s Louisiana Style the official hot sauce of the UFC
Dustin Poirier has signed a partnership agreement with the UFC to make his hot sauce the official hot sauce of the UFC.
Poirier has been vocal in promoting his hot sauce and on fight week for his UFC 281 fight, the partnership was announced. According to the UFC’s press release, branded content featuring Poirier’s Louisiana Style will be featured across UFC’s popular social media channels and digital platforms, which reach more than 200 million followers worldwide. The ‘Official Hot Sauce’ designation also establishes a new sponsorship category for UFC.
“It means a lot to have Poirier’s Louisiana Style named the first-ever Official Hot Sauce of UFC,” Poirier said in the press release. “Putting in the work – whether it’s training for the next fight, creating a hot sauce company, or helping through our Good Fight Foundation – it’s all about building a legacy for my family and my community. These hot sauces come from the cuisine I grew up with in Lafayette, Louisiana. These are my roots, and I’m excited for UFC fans to share the Cajun flavors I love.”
Poirier also becomes the fourth UFC fighter to have a partnership with the UFC as Conor McGregor’s Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey is an official sponsor. Tai Tuivasa and Tyson Pedro’s beer, Drink West, became the Official Beer Partner of UFC in Australia.
As for Dustin Poirier, he’s set to return to the Octagon on Saturday at UFC 281 against Michael Chandler. It marks his first fight since he lost to Charles Oliveira last December for the lightweight title. Prior to the title fight loss, ‘The Diamond’ had back-to-back stoppage wins over Conor McGregor and a decision win over Dan Hooker. Poirier is also the former interim lightweight champ but has come up short twice as he also lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov. In his career, he holds notable wins over Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, Anthony Pettis, and Max Holloway among others.
