Eddie Alvarez to Debut at UFC 178 Against Donald Cerrone in Co-Main Event
UFC President Dana White immediately pulled the trigger on signing arguably one of the best lightweights outside of the UFC in Eddie Alvarez.
Alvarez (25-3) was released Aug. 19, by the Bellator promotion, now being run by Scott Coker and just hours later signed by Zuffa, the parent company of the UFC.
Alvarez will make his UFC debut on September 27 at UFC 178 against Donald Cerrone (24-6), a very tough opponent to welcome Alzarez into the UFC.
Dana White confirmed via Twitter of Alvarez joining the organization, Cerrone and Alvarez will be the co-main event of the evening, which is being headlined by flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson versus Chris Cariaso.
