Edmen Shahbazyan books return at UFC 282 against Dalcha Lungiambula
Edmen Shahbazyan will look to snap his losing skid.
According to MMA reporter Marcel Dorff of Eurosport NL, and since confirmed by MyMMANews, Shahbazyan is set to return to the Octagon on December 10 at UFC 282 against Dalcha Lugiambula. The location of the event is not known while the main event is also uncertain as the rumors of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic at UFC 282 continue to swirl. The rematch between Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira is also rumored to take place on the card.
Edmen Shahbazyan (11-3) started out his MMA career 11-0 and looked like he would be the real deal. However, he suffered a TKO loss to Derek Brunson in a main event and then suffered a decision loss to Jack Hermansson. After the loss to Hermansson, Shahbazyan returned at UFC 268 last November and lost by TKO to Nassourdine Imavov.
Prior to the setbacks, Shahbazyan earned his way into the UFC with a first-round TKO win on the Contender Series in 2018 to improve to 7-0. In his UFC debut, he beat Darren Stewart by split decision and then followed it up with a TKO win over Charles Byrd and a submission win over Jack Marshman. He picked up the biggest win of his career as he scored a first-round KO over Brad Tavares, but then lost three straight.
Dalcha Lungiambula (11-5) is also on a three-fight losing skid as he suffered a KO loss to Punahele Soriano and lost by submission to Cody Brundage and by decision to Marc-Andre Barriault. Lungiambula is 2-4 in the UFC as he scored a TKO win over Dequan Townsend but then lost by KO to Magomed Ankalaev. His other win came by decision against Markus Perez.
With the addition of Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Dalcha Lungiambula, UFC 282 is as follows:
