Eric Nicksick gives Francis Ngannou and Xtreme Couture update
Eric Nicksick is one of the top coaches in mixed martial arts with that comes a busy schedule.
From now through the whole month of April, Nicksick has one off day as his scheduled is filled with training some of the top fighters in the world and cornering them in their fights.
While the schedule is jammed packed to the say the least, Nicksick was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule and do an interview with MyMMANews from his office at Xtreme Couture to discuss some of the his top athletes and the gyms early success here in 2023.
Of the biggest topic of conversation came off the biggest story of the new year with Francis Ngannou being released from the UFC and the promotion booking Jon Jones to fight Ciryl Gane for the now vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285 on March 4.
Nicksick was by his heavyweight athlete throughout the course of the contract negations and he took MyMMANews through some of the conversations his fighter had with the UFC and some of the concerns Ngannou had with the layout of his contract if he were to lose to Jones.
Outside of the Ngannou conversation, Nicksick also discusses Sean Strickland and Dan Ige kicking off the first UFC fight card of 2023 with victories at UFC Vegas 67.
He also discussed Casey O’Neill’s highly anticipated return to the octagon at UFC 286 against Jennifer Maia and gave an update on former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate.
Finally, the multiple coach of the year winner spoke on what its been like to train UFC octagon Brittney Palmer and he named some up and coming prospects to keep an eye on this year.
