Erin Blanchfield moving forward with MMA goals at Invicta FC 30
Erin Blanchfield (1-0) knew from seven-years of age that martial arts was her calling. Having trained in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and competing in both, it was only a matter of time before she decided to turn her efforts to mixed martial arts. Blanchfield Made her pro MMA debut last spring where she won her fight via first-round stoppage.
Now, she makes her way to Invicta FC 30 on July 21 where she meets Brittney Cloudy who is making her professional debut in the first fight of the night. Speaking with My MMA News, Blanchfield talks about how she got started, what her win at EBI 12 did to fast-track her professional MMA career, and what we can expect at Invicta FC 30.
The young fighter also said she has every intention of defending the flyweight title she holds over at EBI once she hears word of a tournament and challenges. When she won that title, in her post-fight interview she said she was going to make her way to becoming a flyweight MMA champion. By now, fight fans know that much of the female roster in the UFC comes from Invicta FC so she is well on her way, and ahead of the game when it comes to her goals.
Both EBI and Invicta FC 30 stream on the UFC Fight Pass app. Invicta FC 30 is headlined by an atomweight title main event with Jinh Yu Frey (6-3) vs. Minna Grusander (6-1) and a Featherweight Co-Main Event: Felicia Spencer (4-0) vs. Helena Kolesnyk (5-1) at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri.
