Fedor vs Anderson Silva fight in works???
Chael Sonnen talks with Frank Mir on this week’s “You’re Welcome with Chael Sonnen” Podcast when Sonnen drops hints that he heard the UFC is planning a mega-fight between former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko.
It starts around the 42 minute mark

The problem with this fight happening anytime soon is one, Fedor is not yet signed to the UFC, or at least officially announced yet anyway if he is.
The second issue is that Sonnen said the fight is to be at 205-pounds. Fedor, who for a long time was the pound-for-pound best heavyweight has been looking pretty jacked as of late and would need to make a drastic cut to 205. Silva on the other hand has fought at 205 several times in the UFC and won to include a win over former champion Forrest Griffin.
A third problem is that Anderson Silva is currently serving out a suspension and it is uncertain if the fighter will even want to make a return to the sport after his last fight which was a win over Nick Diaz was overturned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Surely if the UFC is going to sign Fedor they are going to want to put on super fighter or mega fights or whatever you want to call them in order to justify the signing, and Silva would be a perfect fight, however as of right now this fight is not even close to being signed.
