Fedor vs. Mitrione back on, co-headlines Bellator MMA pay-per-view at MSG
After early reports that the offer was off the table after its first attempt was botched, it appears as if Fedor Emelenianko will in fact be welcomed to Bellator MMA by Matt Mitrione.
Yesterday, reports out of Russia stated that Bellator MMA was no longing pursuing to rebook the fight that was scheduled to headline Bellator 172 in February. That fight fell off when Mitrione was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with having kidney stones.
Three names were put on the table to include Cheick Kongo, Joey Beltran, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.
Now it is confirmed that the fight is rebooked and will serve as the co-main event to Bellator MMA’s second pay-per-view event.
Bellator 180 will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York, and will be headlined by Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva.
Emelianenko is currently the winner of five consecutive bouts in a row. His last came in a controversial majority decision win over Fabio Maldonado.
