Floyd Mayweather, Laila Ali, Wladimir Klitschko & Andre Ward elected to Boxing Hall of Fame
Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather, Laila Ali, Wladimir Klitschko and Andre Ward will all take their historic place in boxing history. After great careers, the three have now been elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum.
Joining the three legends in the class of 2021 will be Ann Wolfe, Marian Trimiar and Dr. Margaret Goodman. Elected posthumously were lightweight champion Davey Moore, Jackie Tonawanda, cut man Freddie Brown, manager-trainer Jackie McCoy, journalist George Kimball and television executive Jay Larkin.

Mayweather is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time after posting a perfect 50-0 record in the ring while winning titles across five weight classes. Throughtout his historic career, Mayweather scored wins over some of the sports biggest stars like Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya. He last fought in 2017 when he defeated UFC superstar Conor McGregor by TKO.
Ali is the daughter of sports icon Muhammad Ali. Like her father, she was a great boxer finishing with a 24-0 record and knocking out nearly all of her opponents. After her boxing career, she began a known TV personality.
Klitschko fought 140 times in professional career and won 134 of them. Klitschko was one of the more dominate heavyweight champions of all time as his longest reign over the division lasted nine years while he defended his title 18 times in that span.
Ward, like Mayweather and Ali, finished his career undefeated with a 32-0 record. During his 13 year career, Ward won multiple titles across two weight classes. He last fought in June of 2017 when he defeated Sergey Kovalev for the second time. Since his retirement he has been serving as a boxing analysts.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 13 and it will conclude the class of 2020, who missed their ceremony this summer due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The class of 2020 also has some notable names as their class includes Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Christy Martin, Lucia Rijker, Barbara Buttrick, Frank Erne, Paddy Ryan, Lou DiBella, Kathy Duva, Dan Goossen, Bernard Fernandez and Thomas Hauser.
