Former Champ Elias Boudegzdame Breaks Record For Most Submission Wins In BRAVE CF History

The 43 million people in Algeria had every reason to celebrate last Sunday, August 1 when Mohamed “L’Ambiance” Said Maalem had achieved his career-defining moment by capturing the vacant BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight World Championship.

Said Maalem thwarted his biggest challenge yet in the form of middleweight kingpin Mohammad  “The Latest” Fakhreddine in the main event of BRAVE CF 52: Bad Blood in Milan, Italy.

Though Said Maalem’s world title-clinching performance may have stolen the show, his compatriot Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame was responsible for setting the mood of the evening with his first-round submission of promotional debutant Brice “Lion Kid Picaud in his BRAVE CF return.

The former BRAVE CF Featherweight World Champion forced his Frenchman opponent to tap at the 1:26 mark of the opening salvo with a wrenching triangle choke, claiming his 14th submission victory as a pro and ninth win by using the same hold.

Heralded as the “King of the Triangle Choke,” Elias Boudegzdame now holds the record of most submission wins in the Bahrain-based outfit with four, surpassing Ikram Aliskerov and Klidson  “White Bear” Abreu.

Following his stellar performance at BRAVE CF 52: Bad Blood, Boudegzdame now pins his focus on becoming Algeria’s other world champion aside from Said Maalem by regaining the BRAVE CF Featherweight World Championship.
