Francis Ngannou picks Stipe Miocic to beat Jon Jones – “Stipe doesn’t get the credit he deserves”
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has his biggest test to date ahead of him when he meets lineal boxing champ Tyson Fury on Oct. 28 in Saudi Arabia.
While Ngannou is no longer with the UFC, the former champ has weighed in on the upcoming UFC heavyweight title bout between current champion Jon Jones and former champion Stipe Miocic.
Ngannou told CBS Sports’ reporter Shakiel Mahjouri that he feels his former foe Miocic will come out victorious at UFC 295 in November.
“I would pick Stipe… Stylistically, Stipe,” Ngannou said. “I fought Stipe twice. Stipe doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Obviously, I won the second time, but I know that I could have even lost that time. I know how good of a fighter he is. He fought D.C. three times, and you can see how he fought. This is also a different weight class for Jon Jones. This is heavyweight and I think it’s slightly different than light heavyweight. I agree that Jon Jones is the best at light heavyweight, but I think at heavyweight he definitely will be challenged.”
