Garrett Armfield discusses his first career UFC win at UFC Singapore
Garrett Armfield just picked up a monumental victory in his career at UFC Singapore.
In Armfield’s last fight, he made his UFC debut, but the fight came on short notice and he fought in the featherweight division.
Since that fight, Armfield changed camps, which he viewed as an amazing experience and then for this fight, he got the opportunity to fight in his usual bantamweight weight class and he also got to a full training camp.
All of those prefight moves paid off as at UFC Singapore, Armfield looked cool, calm and collected from the start and he put on amazing performance.
In his fight with Toshiomi Kazama, Armfield dominated from the second the referee said go. Every strike that he threw seemed to land and they all had a lot of power behind them.
As Kazama was beaten and battered, the referee was looking to stop the fight and late in the first round, Armfield would knock Kazama to the canvas and that was enough for the referee to wave off the fight.
Armfield was fired up with his performance and he told the fans to remember his name as he vowed to get better every time he steps foot in the octagon and that one day he’ll be the best in the world.
Following the fight, Armfield spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his first career UFC win, his change in training camps and what’s next for him.
