Garrett Armfield talks UFC 297 win and plans for 2024
Garrett Armfield is once again in the UFC win column after another great showing in his UFC 297 victory over Brad Katona.
Armfield came into the fight with a reach advantage and he used it perfectly throughout the course of his 15 minutes fight with Katona.
Both men were will to trade punches, but as Katona would throw punches wildly and missed, Armfield would make Katona pay as he landed clean strikes over and over again.
For the first 10 minutes of the fight, Armfield fought perfectly and seemed to always be one step ahead of Katona as his striking was crips and he had good takedown defense.
Katona would try to make things interested in the final round of the fight as he secured to two takedowns and won the round, but that wasn’t enough to win the fight.
Armfield took the win as all three judges scored the fight 29-28 in his favor.
The UFC 297 win was sweet for Armfield and he really feels that he’s coming into own now that he’s back fighting in his home state of Missouri.
Previously, Armfield fought at Kill Cliff FC in Florida, but for a second straight camp, Armfield did all his training in Missouri and he feels like he’s getting better every single day.
Now after a second straight win, Armfield has his eyes on making 2024 a big year for him.
Following his UFC 297 win, Armfield spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his performance, his second straight international fight and training back home.
