GLORY 102 – Last Featherweight Standing Results
The second round of the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing tournament, which took place in the early hours of August 2 from Tokyo, Japan, did not disappoint.
Four more fighters advance on both sides of the bracket at GLORY 102 – Last Featherweight Standing, each fight providing highlight reel moments or incredible knockouts.
On the GLORY side, Denis Wosik (41-9-1, 9 KO) looked like a man on a mission as he relentlessly put the pressure on Thai veteran Suarek (107-41-11, 39 KO) to score a unanimous decision while newcomer Achraf Aasila (54-13, 13 KO) dropped Lounis Saing (19-5-1, 12 KO) with a picture-perfect spinning back kick en route to a decision win.
Japan’s Yutaro Asahi (18-10, 5 KO) scored a devasting faceplant KO over Spain’s Eduardo Catalin (17-4-1, 7 KO) and top prospect Yura Kono (16-1, 8 KO) stopped China’s Dexiang Kong (35-11, 25 KO) in the first round, both on the RISE side of the bracket.
In the main event, Shiro Matsumoto (54-17-4, 18 KO) defended his RISE super bantamweight title with a dominant one-sided victory over challenger Masahi Kumura (24-8, 12 KO) and, in the co-main event, Australia’s Chadd Collins (65-18-2, 32) got a razor-thin split decision over Kento Haraguchi (27-6-1, 14 KO) in what should be a fight of the year candidate.
Elsewhere on the card, top rising star Ryujin Nasukawa (15-2, 7 KO) continued his rise with a hard fought win over Jin Mandokoro (21-13, 7 KO) and Taiju Shiratori (32-11-1, 13 KO) stopped UK veteran Andy Turland (21-8, 8 KO) with body shots in round one.
