Grant Dawson vs. Julian Erosa slated for UFC Wichita
After getting cleared by USADA, Grant Dawson is finally going to make is UFC debut.
Sources have confirmed with MyMMANews.com that Dawson will take on Julian Erosa at UFC on ESPN+ 4 . The event will take place March 9 at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
“The Prophet” earned a UFC contract in August 2017 after a second-round submission of Adrian Diaz at on the inaugural season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. Following the victory, Dawson would be notified in November 2017 of a potential USADA violation after a positive drug test and was, subsequently, released by the organization. After a grueling process to clear his name, Dawson was vindicated as all violations were dropped and would sign a new contract with the UFC a little under a month ago.
After competing on Season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter, Erosa would have two fights in the UFC before leaving the organization following his loss to Teruto Ishihara at UFC 196 in March 2016. “Juicy J” would get an opportunity to return to the Octagon when he competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series last June. Erosa would finish Jamall Emmers in the second round, but did not earn a contract that night. Five months later, Erosa would return to the Octagon when he took on Devonte Smith at UFC Fight Night 146. Smith would get the TKO victory 46 seconds into the first round. The 29-year-old will look to bounce back in Wichita.
UFC on ESPN+ 4 will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and former champion Junior dos Santos.
