Greg Hardy: “I refuse to die” and there is “more coming”
This last Saturday at UFC 272, at the hands of Sergey Spivak, heavyweight fighter Greg Hardy suffered his third straight loss.
The former NFL defensive end has gone 4-5 (1 NC) in the UFC since signing with the promotion back in 2018. He holds wins over the likes of Yorgan De Castro and Juan Adams but has suffered knockout losses in his last three bouts against Marcin Tybura, Tai Tuivasa, and most recently Sergey Spivak.
Given his bout against Spivak was his last fight on his UFC contract, it left the question of if the 33-year-old would simply hang it up or stay in the fight game.
Following the bout, however, the “Prince of War” posted a statement on his Instagram.
The statement states that he has “no excuses” and that he has “gotta get better.” He tells his fans that “more is coming for the prince of War.”
He ends his statement by saying “I refuse to die, but I have to reevaluate for sure.”
With no word on if he will re-sign with the UFC, it does seem like he will remain in the world of combat sports. He could possibly make a move to another promotion such as Bellator or the PFL, provided he is given an offer.
