Greg Hardy Wants To Live On Fight Island
Greg Hardy is so committed to the UFC’s targeted goal of Fight Island that he’s even willing to live there. The UFC heavyweight has ambitious aspirations even beyond wanting to live on this island. Hardy also indicated that he wanted to fight around six times this calendar year. Greg Hardy relayed all of these plans to TMZ Sports in a recent interview. The transcription for the Hardy quotes below is courtesy of MMA Junkie.
Hardy said, “I’m saying it right now. Dana, man, listen. If you’ve got quarters, I will stay on that island, bro. You know I’m not ashamed to move in. We can fight every couple of weeks, dude. With all seriousness, let’s run it. I’ll live on it and break my own record that I tied last year – 100 percent.”

Hardy is hungry and leaped at the chance to fight Yorgan De Castro at UFC 249. The former NFL player had a couple of reasons as to why he was so eager for that May 9th prize fight.
“One, you know me. I’m entertaining, man,” Hardy said. “I’m always smiling and enjoying. Watching fights would be a perfect remedy for just everything that’s happening right now –watching some of your favorite entertainers go out and go crazy and enjoy themselves. Two, I think my mentality has always been the same as far as holding it down for the team. These guys need to put on a big card. They need some big draws. They need some people that are down to fight, you know, besides the BS. I wanted to be the first guy to step up and say, ‘I’ve got you guys.’”
The heavyweight division is filled with a variety of differing perceptions at this unprecedented time. Hardy seems to be on the excitable end of things whereas some aren’t terribly ecstatic, comparatively. Greg Hardy Fight Island is a sequence of words that would have seemed nonsensical to me just a few weeks ago. It could possibly be the “new normal” as the UFC plows forward with wanting to put on events.
