Hattan Alsaif: First Saudi woman to sign global MMA deal, looking to inspire at PFL MENA
Hattan Alsaif is just getting started in her mixed martial arts career and is already an incredible inspiration. The first-ever Saudi woman signed to a global MMA contract, as she signed with PFL MENA in early 2024, the stars have aligned for both sides to get the most out of the great partnership that once again showcases the focus that Professional Fighters League has on signing young, unknown, and skilled talent, and bringing them to the biggest stage worldwide.
Making her debut at the very first PFL MENA event earlier this year, Hattan Alsaif sent shockwaves through MMA as she delivered a viral highlight head-kick knockout in what was her first amateur mixed martial arts fight.
That highlight didn’t just serve as an attention grabber, it showcased that the PFL has a knack for finding talent. It also was a statement to women around the world, specifically women from Saudi Arabia who want to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. Hattan Alsaif wasn’t just the first woman, she was a woman who made a statement.
On Friday, July 12, Alsaif will return to the PFL SmartCage looking to add onto her already impressive debut. Taking on Eman Baraka who is also 1-0 and representing Egypt, it is yet another historic moment for PFL MENA to take credit for. Having achieved gold medal at the IFMA Muay Thai, Saudi Games, and World Combat Games respectively, Alsaif looks to take her career to the next level.
There is no denying Hattan Alsaif’s talent, there is also no denying that PFL continues to find young talent that all have the opportunity to become global stars. Brought into mixed martial arts to help overcome personal loss and adversity in her life, Alsaif has vowed to be a fixture for the Middle East, and even more so, women from the Middle East who want to not only chase their dreams, but achieve them as well.

If she continues her success in her fights, it would be easy to draw comparisons to Dakota Ditcheva, who took her success from PFL Europe and exploded onto the PFL Global stage, going undefeated in the flyweight regular season and becoming the top seed.
