Hemetsberger Edges Out Buntan By Split Decision To Win The ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title
February 14, 2026 – Bangkok, Thailand: ONE Championship (ONE) returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium with another explosive evening at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II.
In the main event, Austrian sensation Stella “Always Hungry” Hemetsberger etched her name in the history books, edging out Jackie Buntan via split decision to capture the ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title and become a two-sport ONE World Champion.
The high-level chess match saw Buntan press forward behind sharp boxing combinations, while Hemetsberger utilized distance management and stinging leg kicks to compromise the Filipino-American’s base. The pace continued with intensity in the third and fourth rounds, with the fighters exchanging their heaviest artillery at the center of the ring.
The bout was even heading into the final frame, as both women traded powerful blows to sway the judges. Buntan connected with two high kicks and a snappy straight right, but Hemetsberger answered with timely combinations of her own to seal the razor-close victory.
With the historic win, “Always Hungry” now reigns as the undisputed queen of the strawweight division in both Muay Thai and kickboxing.
In the co-main event, Scottish knockout artist “King of the North” Nico Carrillo captured the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship with a gritty unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Shadow Singha Mawynn in an instant classic.
The highly anticipated showdown began with both featherweights being patient and calculated with their attacks. However, momentum shifted in Shadow’s favor through the middle rounds, as the Thai standout staggered Carrillo with a thunderous left hook in the second stanza and continued pressing forward with varied attacks in the third.
“King of the North” showcased his trademark toughness to turn the tide in a dramatic fourth frame, knocking Shadow down with a crisp right hand and then unloading powerful boxing combinations that left both men visibly tired entering the final round.
Carrillo, however, powered through the exhaustion and poured on the pressure to seal the deal. With the win, he made history as Scotland’s first ONE World Champion.
