Hilarie Rose eyes UFC Boston spot following CES 57 finish
Hilarie Rose just picked up her fourth consecutive win over the weekend and she hopes to parlay that into competing on the biggest state in her home state.
Rose picked up a first-round submission win over Kaiyana Rain at CES 57 this past Friday night. The event took place at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI and aired exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
A few days following the impressive win, the 26-year-old Rose checked in with MyMMANews.com to discuss all of the action. The USMMA and Lauzon MMA trained fighter from Norfolk, MA discussed getting a quick victory, how she got into the sport, the up and down start to her MMA career as an amateur, when it all really started to come together and much more.
In addition, Rose is hoping her quick win will lead to an opportunity to compete at October’s UFC on ESPN 6 event in Boston. While she is not keeping her expectations too high, Rose revealed that she is not interested in competing in CES’ next event Sept. 7 and will focus on making her game sharper in case the phone does ring.
“No interest at all,” Rose told MyMMANews.com in regard to competing at CES 58. “My goals for the next few months are to stay busy, grind out and get better, and hope that I get that (UFC) call. If I don’t get a call by the end of the year, I’ll probably think about getting another local fight. Right now, the goal is to enhance the skills that I have. If the timing is right, and a fight comes up, the right fight is there, maybe I’ll take it. I’m hoping that the UFC is going to call.
“With all of the right people, the right communication and the right skill, I believe that it will happen.
