UFC female bantamweight champion Holly Holm has signed a multiyear contract extension with the UFC, per her longtime manager, Lenny Fresquez.
Holm, 34, turned the mixed martial arts world upside down in November, when she knocked out formerly undefeated champion Ronda Rousey in the second round of a 135-pound championship fight at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.
Holm, a former world champion boxer, inked the new deal on Saturday in Las Vegas. It is not uncommon for the UFC to sign a newly crowned champion to a new contract.
“We have officially signed a multiyear extension with the UFC,” Fresquez told ESPN.com. “That’s all I can verify right now. We’ve signed an extension, and we’re very happy with the extension.”
Fresquez did not disclose specific terms of the deal. The UFC had not yet commented on Holm’s extension.
The UFC has not announced Holm’s next fight. During an appearance Dec. 3 on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike, UFC president Dana White said Rousey (12-1) would get a rematch and added that he and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta should “probably lose our promoter’s license if didn’t make that rematch.”
