Hughie Fury Says He Wants Dave Allen Fight
Hughie Fury, cousin of heavyweight World Champion, Tyson Fury, says Matchroom Boxing stablemate, Dave Allen is on his radar. Fury had his world title hopes course corrected after he beat Pavel Sour in March. Fury dropped his eliminator fight to Alexander Povetkin but still has world title hopes.
Fury had his plans postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak but is planning to return to action very soon. Fury is ready to get back in action soon and is willing to fight behind closed doors. He knows with travel restricted, he knows his options are limited.
“Dave Allen keeps mentioning my name saying he wants to fight me and all this,” said Fury. “I’m a fighting man so let’s get it on as soon as possible. It doesn’t bother me. It’s only going to be fights against English opponents at the moment. It will be a good fight between the pair of us, there’s no point in waiting. I have no hard feelings against him but he’s mentioning my name so let’s get it on!”
Hughie Fury Still Growing
Hughie Fury knows he is still young. After the Povetkin fight, he changed a lot of his game and says he didn’t have a chance to show it in the Sour fight last March. But he was insistent that he has changed a lot in his game.
“I’m 25 and still filling out. One thing I love to do is fight and no one will ever take that away from me, I love these challenges. We have changed a lot although you never got to see too much in the Pavel Sour fight. When I get back in these bigger fights that is when you will see the difference and the changes we’ve made.”
The fight between Hughie Fury and Dave Allen is not a done deal, but there is interest on both sides. Stay posted to My MMA News for all the latest surrounding the rumors and more Matchroom Boxing announcements. Thanks for reading!
