“I thought it was f**king awful” – David Feldman talks lackluster BKFC 65 main event

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) founder David Feldman was not happy with the action put forth in Friday night’s BKFC 65 main event.

Christine “Misfit” Ferea defended her BKFC World Women’s Flyweight Championship for a record fourth time in the BKFC 65 main event on Friday night at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Las Vegas fighter edged out Jade Masson-Wong in a back-and-forth, split-decision victory. Two judges scored it 49-46 for Ferea, while one judge scored it 49-46 for Masson-Wong, who entered fight night as the # 1 contender in the division.

Ferea improved to 9-1 with her victory. She has now won seven straight in the squared circle, the longest winning streak among any female fighter in BKFC history. Masson-Wong, a Montreal product who was vying to become the first Canadian BKFC champ, moves to 3-2 with the loss.

“We both came out here and put it on the line. She did her best; I did my best. I’m sorry, guys – my next performance will be better,” Ferea said. “Thank you to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, David Feldman, all of my sponsors – I appreciate you guys for giving me this opportunity.”

David Feldman tells it how he saw it

“Let’s go to the main event,” said Feldman. “I thought it was f**king awful. Awful. One of the worst main events we’ve ever had in history. One of the worst women’s main events we’ve ever had. It was just….if you are fighting for the championship, I mean I think anyone will agree with me, if you are fighting for a championship you have to be willing to go in there and go out on your shield. And it looked like either woman didn’t really want to get hit tonight. And I was disappointed, and the comments online are telling me they are very disappointed too so, I’m sorry to say that but it is what it is. It was a very lackluster main event, and I was very disappointed, as were the fans as you heard by the boos, as were the comments.
