Ideas to keep yourself entertained during April snowstorm
A snowstorm is headed to Montreal, much of Canada, several parts of the United States of America, and across Europe, in what is turning out to be a somewhat bizarre April.
One minute the sun is out and the temperature is hot, the next it’s hammering down with rain, and to make things worse we now have snow to deal with.
If you’re not a fan of the cold weather and plan to stay indoors whilst the weather is rubbish outside, here are some suggestions to keep you entertained:
1. Netflix
The most popular streaming subscription platform, Netflix subscriptions start from $9.99 after a month’s trial. As of January, there were more than 200 million subscribers across the globe, so if you haven’t joined already, what are you waiting for?
From television series’ old and new, Netflix Originals and an endless selection of films and documentaries, you’ll be spoiled for choice and have endless days of entertainment for when the weather keeps you indoors.
Men on a Mission season 7, 2012 and Friends with Benefits are just some of the new additions this month.
2. Online Poker
Poker was one of the fastest growing television programmes when it was first aired in the United States nearly 15 years ago. On top of that, online poker has been one of the biggest growing sensations since the internet boom at the start of the millennium, and there are a number of very popular apps on the Google and Apple stores.
Whether you prefer to play on a desktop PC, tablet, mobile device or a games console, there’s a number of great poker Canada options for you. All of our favourite ones, such as Governor of Poker 3, Prominence Poker and World Series of Poker, all have options to play with just your friends, or strangers across the globe.
These games can all be enjoyed for free, whilst there are other options out there if you are looking to play for real money.
3. Read
Books can be purchased fairly cheaply online these days and even cheaper if you go second hand with Amazon or eBay. One of the most popular pastimes, reading never gets old.
It doesn’t matter what you’re into, fiction or non-fiction, romance, horror or self-development, there’s an endless supply of books in every topic out there. If you don’t have the patience to sit down and read yourself, Audible isn’t overly priced allowing you to listen to audiobooks.
4. Podcasts
If you just want to chill on your couch or in your bedroom then you could get into new podcasts quite easily. iTunes, Spotify and YouTube all have uploads that are free to listen to.
Because they are easy to access you can get through several at a time and subscribe to numerous podcasters. You can also listen to them whilst you’re doing work around the house, working out or other chores.
