Ilyaz Mamadaliyev caps entertaining 513 Fight Night with knockout win
Ilyaz Mamadaliyev capped an entertaining Ohio debut for Pittsburgh-based 247 Fighting Championships, as he knocked out Will Worley in the main event of 513 Fight Night at the Sharonville Convention Center in the Cincinnati area.
Mamadaliyev and Worley traded big blows throughout their fight that was spent mostly on the feet, with Mamadaliyev getting the best of Worley with counter striking. Worley actually dropped Mamadaliyev in the first round, which Ilyaz said after the fight was the first time he was floored in a bout. But the Vision MMA product poured it on midway through the second round, landing a big left hand followed by an overhand right to put the Virginian down for good.
It was the second knockout of Mamadaliyev’s career, as he moves to 4-2. After the bout he mentioned how important it was for him to get a fight at home after having at least five bouts cancelled in the past year-plus.
In the co-main event, heavyweight Cameron Kinzig pushed his unblemished pro record to 4-0, as he knocked out Raiden Kovacs with a front kick followed by a few punches on the ground. The fight showed the striking range of the Immortal Martial Arts fighter, who used his punches followed with elbows, as well as plenty of kicks before eventually snapping a front kick seemingly out of nowhere that landed flush under the chin of Kovacs to drop him with just over a minute left in the first round.
Kinzig, who is an LFA vet, now has all four of his pro wins via knockout and looks to be one of the best heavyweight prospects in the sport.
Mataeo Garner moved his record to 2-0 as a professional, as he submitted Quentin Campbell with a neck crank in the third round. Garner was outweighed by more than 40 pounds as he moved up from middleweight to face Campbell, but he showed off his strength and wrestling prowess by controlling the entire fight.
In the night’s opening pro bout, Zakariya Camara earned his third submission in three pro victories as he submitted Shawn Rall with rear naked choke in what was nearly a flawless victory.
The night’s amateur card was entertaining as well, as all eight bouts ended via stoppage. The amateur card was highlighted by a come from behind inverted triangle choke submission from Tim vonBiedenfeld, who is affectionately known as “Timbo Slice”. He threw up the submission after getting taken down in the third round in a fight that Cliff Richards had controlled throughout with his wrestling.
Kam Smith also locked in a deep triangle/arm bar to submit Terrence Owens, and Rex Hoeffel was not to be outdone with a slick belly-down arm bar to submit Aaron Jimenez. David Krouse kicked off the night with a 23-second TKO over Christian Swanson.
