Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland – Preview and Prediction
Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland will square off in the main event of UFC 293 this Saturday in a meeting between two big personalities in the UFC.
On Saturday night, all talking will be put aside as the winner will have the middleweight championship wrapped around their waste.
Here is a preview and prediction of the main event. The preview and prediction can also be seen in the video above.
Breakdown
Adesanya has been absolutely incredible during his UFC tenure in which he is now in his second title reign.
The only men to beat Adesanya inside of the octagon were big men that are both light heavyweights. Alex Pereira, who beat Adesanya twice in kickboxing, did take the belt from Adesanya, but Adesanya got revenge in their last fight before Pereira moved up to 205 pounds.
Strickland is a veteran who loves to fight and is always remaining active. He hasn’t had that wow moment, but Saturday gives him the opportunity to forever be a part of UFC history.
Tale of the Tape
Big time favors the champion. Adesanya has a height, reach and leg reach advantage by three to four inches in every category. Strickland is two years younger than the champ.
Oddmakers
They love Adesanya. Every betting outlet has Adesanya over a -600-betting favorite and Strickland as over a +400 underdog.
Prediction
Strickland stands upright and walks forward. Adesanya should be able to pick apart the challenger’s legs until he fades to get the finish.
One thing to note is that Strickland is tough as nails and will come into the fight prepared, so he can make the distance for sure, but if it goes 25 minutes, Strickland won’t be on the winning side of a decision. His only way to win is by a finish.
Adesanya picks Strickland apart and gets the finish. Adesanya leaves UFC 293 with a TKO win.
