Jacare Souza to return to middleweight at UFC 249
Following a good performance at light heavyweight, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will return to middleweight in April.
According to ESPN, Souza (26-8, 1NC) and Uriah Hall (15-9) have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 249. The card is set for April 18 in Brooklyn and will be headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
Souza, a former Strikeforce middleweight champion, has lost four of his last six fights. In that stretch his two wins have come against former champion Chris Weidman and No. 8 ranked middleweight Derek Brunson.
Hall is currently on a two fight winning streak and has won three of his past four fights, with his only loss coming against undefeated Paulo Costa.
Currently Hall is ranked No. 10 in the middleweight division and Souza is not ranked among middleweights, but sits at No. 15 at light heavyweight.
