Jailton Almeida’s Spectacular UFC Debut
With a spectacular 15-2 professional record, Jailton Almeida has been quietly rising towards stardom in his native country of Brazil. At 30-years-old, Almeida is on a 10-fight win streak all of which have been finished within two rounds.
UFC fans were first introduced to “Malhadinho” at Dana White’s Contender Series in September of 2021. Where he gave Nasrudin Nasrudinov his first loss, ending the fight with a rear-naked choke in the second round.
This last Saturday, UFC fans saw his return to action as he took on fellow Brazilian Danilo Marques at UFC Vegas 47. Within just three minutes, Almeida was postured up and throwing heavy bombs on Danilo ending the fight via ground-and-pound.

During his post-fight interview, the light-heavyweight prospect respectfully called out one of his idols, “Shogun” Rua. But quickly followed that by stating that he is in no rush to rise through the ranks of the division.
Whether or not we see a matchup with his dream fight against “Shogun” Rua, it is clear that Jailton Almeida is here to stay. Very few have had as eye-catching of a UFC debut as Almeida had this last weekend. It is quite easy to say that with all of his wins coming by way of a finish, Almeida is one to keep an eye on. He is most definitely must-see TV.
