Longtime 205-pound staple Ovince Saint Preux returns to the UFC’s octagon at Dec. 5 against Dana White’s Contender Series alum Jamahal Hill. The event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Saint Preux (25-14 MMA, 15-10 UFC) most recently, picked up a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus in his most recent fight after knocking out Alonzo Menifield. The victory was Saint Preux’s return to both the win column and the light heavyweight division after a one-off heavyweight fight split decision loss to Ben Rothwell in May. After getting edged out in his heavyweight debut against “Big Ben” in May, Saint Preux moved back down to 205 pounds and scored a knockout at UFC on ESPN+ 34.
But despite returning to his original weight class, the former UFC interim light heavyweight title challenger is still open to competing at heavyweight.
“Even with the heavyweight division and dabbling with all that, I can definitely do it again,” Saint Preux told MMA Junkie. “I would do it again. It’s crazy too, my first fight bumping up to heavyweight, I fought the most durable heavyweight pretty much in UFC history”
Shortly after the news of the booking became public, Saint Preux announced on Twitter he’s signed a new contract with the UFC in addition to his bout agreement.

Hill (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has won both of his UFC appearances to date after surging his way into the UFC on DWCS, Season 3 in 2019. After defeating Darko Stosic in his debut, Hill finished Klidson Abreu with strikes in 1:51 in May.
ESPN reported that undefeated light heavyweight Jamahal Hill both failed in competition tests in relation to his respective fight in Las Vegas on May 30.
With the addition, December 5 event now shapes up like:
Jack Hermansson vs. Darren Till
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Cody Stamann
Bethe Correia vs. Yanan Wu
Jake Collier vs. Gian Villante
Maryna Moroz vs. Taila Santos
Cody Durden vs. Jimmy Flick
John Allan vs. Roman Dolidze
