James “Lyonheart” Lyons discusses Stellar Fights 41 title defense
James Lyons has been on an absolute tear in the regional amateur featherweight circuit since the summer of 2018. The young warrior has finished his last four opponents (all of his wins are via stoppage) and has stated his intentions to keep the judges out of his upcoming bout against William Mondragon, and to keep the stoppages rolling in at Stellar Fights 41 on April 27.
Growing up in Hockessin, Delaware, “Lyonheart” Lyons has grown accustomed to the Hockessin P.A.L. Center, the venue of his upcoming bout. From attending after school activities in his younger years, all the way through adulthood where he essentially gets to fight in his backyard, Lyons thrives on entertaining his local community and draws countless fans to watch him compete.
Ahead of Stellar Fights, Lyons is also matched at the Fight 2 Win grappling promotion taking place Friday, April 12 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Lyons couldn’t pass on the opportunity to compete twice in a month stating “I’m big on jumping on opportunities.” Continuing with “If something happens a week after Stellar, I might jump on it…You know, I’m here to fight and compete!”
Tune in as James “Lyonheart” Lyons and I catch up in the cage at 302 BJJ to talk about his upcoming competitions, training, his plans on going pro and so much more!
