Jamey-Lyn Horth overcame serious knee injury to win LFA flyweight title
Interview with Jamey-Lyn Horth above
Jamey-Lyn Horth Wessels (5-0) recaps her flyweight title fight win over Mayra Cantuaria (9-4-1) at LFA 120 on Dec. 10. Jamey also spoke about the feedback she’s received since the win, her plans for the holidays and how she suffered a knee injury in the fight.
“I remember sitting in like an ankle lock position and I remember hearing ‘pop, pop, pop’ six times and I look down. Either my leg is broken or I just blew everything out of my knee. I don’t know how I didn’t show it. I talked myself through that whole scenario. I got out, I remember standing up and putting her up against the cage. My leg was noodle. Honestly that’s what I’ve been thinking about all week, I think it was the adrenaline.”
