Janet Todd vs Anissa Meksen

Janet Todd vs Anissa Meksen for ONE Kickboxing belt (Exclusive)

Janet Todd vs Anissa Meksen is going to be the next ONE Atomweight Kickboxing Championship fight.

Todd is the reigning Atomweight Kickboxing world champion heading into this upcoming bout.

The Boxing Works pugilist last competed during ONE Championship’s April broadcast run on TNT. At ONE on TNT II, Janet Todd bested Anne Line Hogstad in Muay Thai action via third-round TKO from a body kick.

Todd’s last pair of prizefights have been in the Muay Thai ranks. But she trades in the 4 oz gloves and transitions back to Kickboxing with the aim of notching her first successful ONE title defense.

At the history-making all-women martial arts extravaganza ONE: Empower, Anissa Meksen notched the only stoppage victory on the event. She dismantled Cristina Morales en route to a TKO in the second stanza.

Meksen debuted with ONE Championship following a tremendous amount of excitement leading into that first foray and she delivered in spades. Anissa Meksen brought her overall striking arts record to 101-5 with many theorizing her sophomore outing in the ONE Circle would be in a bid for gold.

C18 aims to become a two-sport titleholder in ONE Championship and has an opportunity to see her goal halfway actualized in this Janet Todd contest.

I spoke with ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong and he broke the news to me about this Todd versus Meksen ONE Atomweight title bout.

Chatri Sityodtong said, “I guess I can break it with you, Dylan. Anissa Meksen has been offered the world title fight against Janet Todd. I believe the team is talking to them or has already talked to them. I haven’t got the latest update. This is a few days ago we decided. So they’re just deciding now on the time and venue. But that’s the fight we’re making, yeah.”

What are your thoughts on Todd versus Meksen vying for ONE Kickboxing glory in the Circle next?
