Jasmine Jasudavicius discusses the thrill of winning her UFC debut
Jasmine Jasudavicius will never forget her first UFC experience.
After earning a contract on last years season of Dana White’s Contender Series, Jasudavicius made her debut over the weekend at UFC 270.
She admits that fight week was a little frantic with extra media opportunities, but overall the first fight week was as smooth as it possibility could be.
While fight week was smooth and she got the thrill of see her name on a UFC fight kit, the ultimate goal was to get a win in her first UFC outing and she did just that.
Jasudavicius opened the event up in a flyweight matchup with Kay Hansen. In the first two rounds, Jasudavicius was able to use her wrestling background and her length to her advantage as she control the grabbling aspect on way to winning the fights opening 10 minutes.
In the final five minutes, Jasudavicius went with a more conservative approach and while two of the three judges gave the round to Hansen, it didn’t matter as Jasudavicius won her octagon debut.
Following the win it has been nothing but pure happiness from Jasudavicius as she was able to be interviewed in the octagon by Joe Rogan and most importantly she was able to go back to her home gym at Niagara Top Team to celebrate the win.
Now a few days removed from her win, Jasudavicius spoke to MyMMANews in a phone interview to discuss her first career UFC victory. You can watch the full interview in the video above.
