Jasmine Jasudavicius talks DWCS win & putting Niagara Top Team on the map
Jasmine Jasudavicius went into her Dana White’s Contender Series bout with Julia Polastri with two things in mind. Getting a UFC contract and putting her home gym of Niagara Top Team on the map. By the time the show ended, she accomplished both.
Jasudavicius and Polastri kicked off the third episode of the season fifth season of the show and both ladies went after it in a great fight.
In the first round, Jasudavicius nearly finished the fight with brutal ground-and-pound, but Polastri was saved by the bell.
In the second, Jasudavicius started strong, but Polastri ended the round with success on the feet and stole the round away.
Finally, in the last round, Jasudavicius secured her fourth takedown of the fight and made sure Polastri wasn’t going to steal the fight away from her.
After earning a unanimous decision win, her goals were all in the hands of UFC president Dana White, who liked what he saw out of the Canadian and made her the first woman in this season of the show to get a UFC contract.
Following the most memorable fight of her life to date, Jasudavicius talked with MyMMANews about the win and becoming a UFC fighter. Aside from that, she also discussed Niagara Top Team, spending time training at Syndicate MMA and getting to train with one the newest inductees to the UFC Hall of Fame in Georges St-Pierre.
